Restaurant Le Pressoir, Grand Case: Sophistication, Generosity, and Creativity

When we think of “LE PRESSOIR” in Grand Case, refinement, generosity, and creativity immediately come to mind. Housed in a cozy and warm, century-old Creole cottage, we find delicate cuisine that awakens the senses and revisits French culinary classics.

Among their signature starters, the must-try “Perfect Egg” from Colombier (with its Agata mousseline with Parmesan, truffle, porcini mushrooms, and asparagus), the “Caribbean Fusion Foie Gras” with Clément XO Rum, and the incredible “Popote du Pressoir,” which deserves special mention as it was a real culinary highlight.

Le Pressoir Grand Case

The “Popote du Pressoir” is a tribute to the legendary “Soupe VGE” by Paul Bocuse, a black truffle soup specially created in 1975 for President Valéry Giscard d’Estaing. Beneath its golden pastry lies a treasure trove of flavors and delicate aromas: truffle, foie gras, morels, and beef fillet. Quite a combination.

The passion for French gastronomy at the heart of the Caribbean.

From starters to desserts, it’s a flawless culinary journey, driven by a chef passionate about showcasing our island, with 80% of the menu’s ingredients being “Made in Saint Martin.” The warm welcome and service by Gil and Milaure, the proprietors, are impossible to resist. These seasoned hospitality professionals are attentive throughout the dinner without ever being overbearing.

The blend of refinement and simplicity is something we particularly cherish. For rum and cigar aficionados, the evening can conclude in the neighboring Creole cottage, named “La Part des Anges.” It’s a private lounge offering a wide selection of exceptional cigars and rums…Notably, they were named “Best Restaurant in the Caribbean 2022” by the Caribbean Journal, and it’s no surprise. Le Pressoir offers a refined and generous culinary experience in a cozy setting with attentive service.
And that defines a true gastronomic restaurant. A must-visit for food connoisseurs; you’re sure to fall in love.
