Baie Orientale, also known as Orient Bay (or “BO” to residents), is located in the northeast of the island of Saint-Martin. It’s a residential and tourist district reminiscent of the south of France, with a square surrounded by shops and restaurants.
The tourist lungs of the French side.
Orient Bay Saint Martin is an idyllic white-sand beach, attracting thousands of visitors every year in search of relaxation, sun and water sports. With its breathtaking views over the crystal-clear turquoise waters of the Caribbean Sea, it’s a prime destination for travelers in search of paradise-like scenery.
Often referred to as the “St Tropez of the Caribbean”, Baie Orientale beach is one of the island’s largest and busiest, lined with bohemian-chic beach bars.
Almost 3 kilometers long, it is considered one of the most beautiful beaches in the Caribbean.
Here are a few ideas to help you plan your stay in Orient Bay.
Orient Bay beach is one of the most beautiful in Saint Martin. With its 3 kilometers of fine sand, it’s the perfect place to relax and bask in the sun. You can rent deckchairs and umbrellas for a lazy day, or simply spread your towel on the sand and enjoy the breathtaking view of the turquoise sea. There are plenty of restaurants where you can soak up the sun.
At the beginning of the beach, you’ll find “Ambiance Chic & Convivial” establishments like Coco Beach, KKO Beach, Bikini Beach, La Playa, Waï Plage and Kontiki Beach. A little further afield, you’ll find what we locally call “les lolos de la BO”, smaller beach restaurants at more affordable prices, such as Orange fever, Sunset, Aloha, Le String or Pirate hideway.
Finally, to the very north, you’ll find the area reserved for nudists: Club O by Cedrick. The Club Orient, the naturist hotel that existed before Hurricane Irma, has still not been rebuilt.
Orient Bay St Martin is renowned for its many water sports. Whether you’re a thrill-seeker or prefer more leisurely pursuits, there’s something for everyone. You can try jet skiing, banana boating or even parasailing for a panoramic view of the bay. If you want to try out these new experiences, be sure to visit the Bikini Watersport on the beach.
And if you’d like to try your hand at kitesurfing, wingfoil, surfing, stand-up paddling, kayaking or hoby cat sailing, you’ll need to visit the Wind Adventures School SXM team.
After all, that’s why you’re on vacation. Here are a few ideas to help you recharge your batteries:
– Massage: Enjoy a relaxing massage on the beach or in one of the local spas. You can book a solo or couple massage session to relax and rejuvenate.
– Yoga session: why not take advantage of your stay to learn yoga on the beach to help you connect with nature and relax? Classes are suitable for all levels, from beginners to experienced yogis.
Don’t hesitate to get in touch with Colibri Massage Sxm.
The SPA at La Playa Orient Bay offers a spa to help you relax and recharge. You can book a session in the sauna, hammam or whirlpool to unwind after a busy day.
By taking care of yourself, you’ll be able to make the most of the moment and enjoy your stay.
Grand Case may be known as the gastronomic capital of St. Martin, but Orient Bay has nothing to envy. In the village square, you’ll find some excellent restaurants that will take you on a world tour of flavors. Italian, South American, traditional French or Asian cuisine, the choice is yours.
