Philipsburg is the kind of place that surprises you. The capital of the Dutch side stretches along a narrow strip of land between Great Bay and the Salt Pond — boardwalk on one side, boutiques and restaurants on the other. On cruise days, the bay fills with ships so large they seem impossible. On quiet days, it’s just the water, the pelicans, and the occasional catamaran drifting past.
This cam streams live 24/7 from the boardwalk. Pull it up before you go — you’ll know exactly what the sea looks like and whether a ship is in port.
What you're looking at
The camera sits at the Blue Bitch Bar on the boardwalk, pointing directly over Great Bay. On busy days you’ll catch Carnival, Royal Caribbean, and Norwegian ships docked side by side at the cruise pier. On calmer days the bay is turquoise and almost empty. Either way, it’s worth a look.
Best time to watch
Cruise ships typically arrive between 7 and 9 a.m. and depart by early evening. If you want to see the bay at its most dramatic — three ships, full boardwalk, jet skis cutting across — tune in between 10 a.m. and 2 p.m. on any Tuesday through Saturday during high season.
