Turtle Nest opens with a tropical garden and a view that does the rest. Perched on a gentle rise at the edge of Baie Longue, it looks out over water so blue it seems painted — Saba rising ahead, Statia, St Kitts and Nevis trailing into the horizon, sailboats drifting, planes descending soundlessly in the distance.

The architecture lives for it: walls of glass slide away, sand-toned tiles run straight out to the beach, and an infinity pool edges the sea, ringed with oversized daybeds. At the water's edge, a gazebo with bar seating and a barbecue is made for long evenings.

Inside, vaulted ceilings, handcrafted shuttered doors and a cream-and-taupe palette feel both contemporary and old-world Caribbean. Four sea-view bedrooms sleep eight, two with private terraces and a garden shower.
